This touching piece with words by Queensland poet Mark Svendsen tells of lovers’ thoughts as they take a final evening walk together before the man leaves to fight in the First World War. The lilting, lyrical 6/8 melody and simple accompanying arpeggios create a sense of quiet beauty and reflection on love, grief and hope.
